I just read this
article in SevenDays (about globalization and our lack of interest in learning about the rest of the world) that made me appreciate the work of Prof. Bou-Nacklie at Johnson State College even more than I already did.
Bou makes his students take geography tests periodically. It upsets him that he gets so many college age over-achievers who can't be bothered to learn where anything is. How do you talk about the history and politics of a nation or region without taking its neighbors into consideration? Gah! Keep On Rocking Geography Bou!
