The Lion in Winter

Sep 09, 2007 23:28

Come in from the cold, back to life
Rest your warm head where ever you like
Touching your skin, i feel the warmth within

Who set the lion off?
Old but still hungry
Who woke the old king?
Broke tooth don't mean a thing

Something I could not explain, waited hours alone
Something I could not explain, waited hours for you
Something I could not explain, see how dark his door
Something I could not explain, how empty his frame

Death at the door, grey fur thick with age
Your hands are so cold, place them in my grasp
Touching your skin, your light is passing

Who put the lion down?
Mourn the ruddy mane
Who put the king to bed?
The crown fell off his head

Something I could not explain, waited hours alone
Something I could not explain, waited hours for you
Something I could not explain, see how dark his door
Something I could not explain, how empty his frame
Something I could not explain, nothing else remains

Who put the lion down?
Mourn the ruddy mane
