I guess I have lots to catch everyone up on, ne?
I suppose the best way to start this entry off with would be to tell you all about my vacation to Mexico and LA! :D
Well, first was the Baja Mexico Cruise through Carnival. Which was amazing. Cruises are fantastic, and you get pampered...which is really nice. The weather was perfect for the most part. It was a little chilly here and there, but compared to what the weather was like back home....it was beyond fantastic.
So we board our ship and grabbed some lunch and started to explore our new home for the next 5 days. The ship was so big! There were 4 pools and one had a water slide. There were also about a million bars...which about half the population on the ship found within the first hour. There was even a library which was nice. Along with a Casino (which...boring. I don't really understand why people like gambling so much?) Anyway, after a bit of walking around we decided to go see if our room was ready, and it was! I was surprised at how adorable and spacious the rooms were. I took a picture of half the room (and it looks really small in this picture, but it's the size of an average bedroom really)
Not to mention, the beds were comfy...and the window sill was big so I found myself sitting in the little nook often. Or laying in it....
What? It was hella comfy in there. Especially with the sun beaming through the two portholes.
Our first stop on the cruise was Catalina Island, which we couldn't dock in the port because it's too shallow. So we were tendered in on small boats.
(Christy and I being tendered into shore)
(A picture I took of our cruise ship as we were being tendered in)
Catalina Island is absolutely beautiful. There is only one town on the Island, and that would be Avalon. Avalon is small and quaint and has that feeling of a beach town. There are a bunch of cute shops and cafes in Avalon. You can drive golf carts around the town, and there are tons of expeditions to go on. For example they have whale watching, which we were going to do but the whale watching boat broke down that day so all excursions for it were canceled. Bummer. The island is rather touristy due to the cruise, but that's actually pretty easy to ignore. It's a relaxing place.
At the end of the day we boarded our ship again and took off to Ensenada, Mexico. After a night at sea we docked in Ensenada. It was super sunny, and the temperature was about in the 80's. It was beautiful out. Ensenada is a cute town, it's nothing major though.
While in Mexico we went to Rosarito and went to Fox Studios and went on a tour there. We got to go on the sets of the X-Men movies, Titanic and other movies. It was pretty neat. Sadly we didn't get to see all of the studio which I wish we could have. But what we saw was pretty neat. After the studio tour we went to the Rosarito hotel and had a free meal along with free margaritas. Which were quite good. It was also Christy's first ever Margarita!
(She was faking excitement...I don't think she liked her margarita too much. haha)
I love how they gave us bendy straws....
We really didn't do much in Mexico except shop...shop and shop.
We boarded our ship one last time, and set sail on our way back to Long Beach Port. Which took 2 nights and one day. So we had our "Fun Day at Sea"...which I liked. You get to do whatever you want, venture around the ship, be lazy, make friends etc. Going up and down stairs while the ship is moving was interesting, because the waves were a bit choppy and that made the ship rock quite a bit from time to time.
I think the highlight of our cruise were the towel animals that were made for us each night, and waiting for us on our beds when we got back from dinner. XD Sadly we missed the first nights towel animal because we pretty much passed out on our beds that night and slept right through dinner, and our Steward walked in our room and we startled him (because we weren't supposed to be there). Anyway...the next three nights we got an Elephant, an Eskimo?! (at least that's what we decided it was), and a dog. We named them all too.... X]
I love how the Steward put our sunglasses on the towel animals. XD (Yes, I totally named the dog after Yamapi! XD!!!) The elephant was my favorite though. I accidentally killed him though. :| I decapitated him (and attempted to fix him...but I failed), but we made a note that said "I was abused, please fix me" and our Steward did! Yay!
After we docked back in Long Beach we got off the ship and went right to the airport to pick up our friend, Heather, who was flying out to LA for the weekend. Once we got her our 5 days in LA began. We went to the LA zoo, Hollywood, Little Tokyo, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. , and Universal Studio.
LA Zoo was the first night, we pretty much all acted like a bunch of kids and ran around the zoo taking pictures and videos. The koalas and giraffes were my highlight at the zoo. XD So cute. After the zoo we grabbed some in-n-out and went shopping at Target (as if we could resist. Target is only our second home...we had to investigate and report back to our Target).
(Heather doing the Koala Robot)
The next day was dubbbed "Steph's Day", meaning I got to pick what we did. :D So I chose that we spent a day in Little Tokyo / the downtown area....shopping! Little Tokyo was so cuteeee! There were tons and tons of shops and restaurants.
(Myself, Heather, and Christy in Little Tokyo)
Sadly we didn't make it through all 4 blocks in Little Tokyo, we spent most of our time in the Village Plaza. We went to the grocery shop there and bought tons of candy and drinks (because Asian candy and drinks are the best). For lunch we went to Oomasa, which was amazing. It was so cute, and cozy. Heather and I each ordered Tendon, and a huge bowl of Beef Udon to share. It was sooooo good.
(I like trying on ugly hats...)
After LT we went back to the hotel and decided we wanted to go to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for dinner. So we drove down to Long Beach and went there for dinner. Which was amusing, for we had a 30 minute wait so we basically goofed off for 30 minutes.
(Heather was pretending to be this guy we work with named Gary, hes pretty much a walking corpse and always has that same expression. :|)
Then we decided to start tormenting Christy (because she hates having her picture taken):
Our names got called and I think I heard Christy thank God.
The shrimp at Bubba Gump is kind of to die for. Srsly.
The next day was Heather's day and we went to Hollywood, and shopped some more! Waaaah I loved Hollywood! It was so much fun.
Basically we just shopped, goofed around, and took pictures all day. We even went to a Hollywood garage sale. Sweet.
(Driving down Hollywood Blvd.)
(Hai Johnny Depp!)
(So, I kind of had to do this, because according to my boss Arnold Schwarzenegger is my uncle. o.O )
(...Obvsly)
(Heather and I after our free makeovers in Sephora! yay)
After Hollywood, we had to bring Heather to the Airport because she had school to go back to. Then the next day was Christy's day, and we ended up going to Universal Studios in Universal City. Gah, I had tons of fun that day. All the rides and good food. Not to mention all the really hot Asian boys I saw wandering around the park. XD
(My excitement could not be contained! Hai Spidey!)
(Universal City Walk at night!)
The End! D:
Omgggg, when I got back from my trip I was greeted with cold weather, snow, and my KAT-TUN Calendar! OMAKHGBCKACJBKJ!
<3
It came with an eco bag as well. XD I'm excited, the pictures are so pretty<3 I wish it weren't in notebook form, but oh well. I can get over that easily. Now I am just waiting for my NEWS calendar to arrive. Which sounds interesting, because I have seen pictures of their calendar, and it's coasters in tin cans....and there is a stand for the coasters. I guess each member gets 2 months to themselves as well. I think the concept is rather neat and different. And it looks pretty neat. I wouldn't go so far as saying it was worth what I paid for it...but I can easily get over that. :D
PS - I got new shoes in the mail yesterday! YAY! They are super awesome.
