the word "tranny"

 to describe a trans* person in an interview and now I don't think I like him anymore.

Things I do not want to hear in response to this:

• he "didn't mean it" (if you don't mean something, don't say it)
• he "doesn't know any better" (if you want to play a trans* character in a film then fucking educate yourself)
• it was "just a joke" (nope! also, fuck off.)

This is a man who by his own admission "choked a guy out" for calling him a homophobic slur. He knows enough to know the weight words can carry.
