There was so much to love about this chapter.

Item the First: Happy. You told me when we first starting talking that in a sense, many of your stories were about Happy. A lot of the time, I don't really see that and honestly, I'm generally unconvinced of how much Happy a movie-verse story needs. This chapter used Happy and the friendship of Happy and Pepper to help Tony figure out his feelings for Pepper and deal with his resultant jealousy and possessiveness. Happy is a really useful character for illuminating different aspects of Tony and/or Pepper, because he is a very different sort of person from either of them and he has a different perspective, while still being a significant figure in their lives. You used him and the car itself to great effect.

Item the Second: Hand jobs in the car! As much as I loved Tony's fantasies and hope he gets a chance to act some out and/or watch Pepper act them out, I really enjoyed the act in the car. There was so much conflict. -- at first her hand is dry and its rough, but then there is moisture and its smoother sailing -- he wants to be inside her, but attempting that means losing what he's got -- she talks a good game about being discreet, but she's also unzipping him in the car -- up close and personal and then, suddenly, not.

Item the Third: COMMUNICATION. Tony just asked why not. Good for him. Pepper laid out her reasoning, good for her, AND told him that the way he treats women is not fine. Doubly good for her. She wasn't at a place where she could tell him what is and is not acceptable in the first movie, but she is now. Tony doesn't understand how he can get where he wants to be now, he feels farther away than ever. But, it seems to me that Pepper just told him. He needs to make a connection that is more than physical. He needs to talk and he needs to listen.

In addition to their serious conversation about their relationship, I also loved Pepper admitting that she thinks about him.

Item the Fourth: And of course, that last line. So sweet and so sad. Don't try and stop falling in love, Tony. You aren't supposed to stop.

So! Basically everything about this chapter was perfect.
