Sooooooooo fantastic. Deliciously hot and so true to them. I especially liked the idea of the "executive retreat" -- just a quiet little snapshot into their lives that makes so much sense and really gives insight into the non-romantic parts of their lives, too. Loved this update, and that Pepper could think on her feet so fast while Tony was still in a bit of shock, haha.
You know I like to go on forever and a day in my reviews, but today I cannot because my brain has been fried. Between the hotness of the sex and the sweetness of the kissing going on and on and on, I can't really think about anything else.
I am curious as to how long they have had this executive retreat tradition. Did it come into being after Pepper became CEO, or have they always had it?
I also love how their sex in a public space was oral had consequences. They got caught. Pepper had some beautiful thinking on her feet. Her ability to adapt so fast to that both proves how great a fit she is for Tony while also giving her a really good reason to take a few steps back. She doesn't want to be seen leaving his home, but she almost got caught in a much worse position.
In my mind, the executive retreat started after Pepper became CEO. I see it as symbolic of the power shift in their relationship--I don't know whether Pepper would have gone out drinking with Tony when he was her boss. (Another time I will tell you the hilarious story of the one time I got drunk with my supervisor, which culminated in my now-oft-quoted remark, "You're not the boss of THE BAR!")
And yes, consequences. They are inevitable and forthcoming!
I was curious because it seemed so comforting and familiar to Tony. It makes me wonder how many times they have been able to carry out a weekly retreat. Pepper had the job of CEO for one week as of Iron Man 2. How much time has passed since then?
Yeah, it's not something I would enjoy either! This originally was going to be just them talking over drinks but then the characters decided to take it in a different direction. And who am I to argue? Just the writer. :P
