(no subject)
Wow. Is it weird that I totally forgot /how/ to update? I dunno. Well, about six months have past since my last update and a lot of things have changed, but I don't really remember them. So I'm kind of at a loss for what to write about. Maybe I'll just ramble. Yeah, sounds like a plan.
I had my first college interview yesterday (for Tufts) and it went pretty well. Shawn and Ben accompanied my to the center's Starbucks and waited with me while I looked at all the possible 'Amanda's. Over the phone, she sounded super young, but the only youngish looking women were chatting away with each other. So we just kind of... waited over by the over-priced mechandise. This dude kept eyeing us and I don't blame him. We must've looked pretty sketchy, just staring at random people in the cafe. Anyway, it was amazingly awkward, but Shawn spotted a young woman about to cross the street and sure enough, as she entered, she looked at me and asked, "Emma?" I was relieved, even as my heart pounded in my chest.
Basically, I think it went pretty well. She bought me a cafe mocha, which I thought was classy, even if it was on the University. She said that instead of grilling me with questions, she just wanted to have a conversation and I was totally up for that. We talked for about an hour and it turns out we have a ton of things in common. I guess that's why the Admissions Office paired us up. Anywho, now I'm really hoping for Tufts. It's a complete reach and I doubt I'll get it, but it'd be great. It has an amazing voice department with this amazing woman who's taught me at Longy, and the Drama program rocks. The best part is that it's not a conservatory and I can do what I want and feel free to explore what interests me. Hope I don't get my hopes up too high...
