I am in desperate need of a shower. The humidity is killing me, but I don't think it's worth showering until that fiery ball of plasma in the sky goes away, or I'll just have to do it again.
I did get the grocery shopping done, however. A good thing too, because the humidity also killed every bread-related product in my apartment and I was out of flour. Now I should get started on a loaf, I suppose, but I'm too motivated to work on this haberdashery issue.
See, after I got out of being Grand Master of the Newport Hash a couple of months ago, they decided they wanted me to take over haberdashery. Hasberdashery is the cool swag you can buy with hash-related stuff on it when you go to a hash. We've got a bunch of real old stuff, since one guy about five years ago ordered way too many t-shirts of a design that nobody liked. They're dark blue with a complex white outline of the NH3 logo. You can't really tell what it is.
So, just like when I was GM, I jumped headlong into this, wanting to get these hashers set straight before I move to Florida next year.
I started off by doing an inventory of what there is and there isn't near as much as I thought. There is one plastic garbage bag full of old blue t-shirts out there somewhere, but damned if I know where they are. I can't sell 'em until they're found anyway. I designed a new three-color logo to put on a light-colored shirt, stickers or magnets and I'm working on either a back design, or a spereate shirt entirely.
(I hand-drew the
bridge; it's sort of a recognizable landmark around here.) I did the design on the left in Photoshop using a reworking of a coprighted image (but not the original, I just liked the silhouette).
I don't suppose that makes it OK, but I'm certainly not claiming original artwork here. I like the simplicity of it, but I'm drawing a different version with the same witticism on it. There'll be a rabbit with a keg IV. I'm going to color it, clean it up in Photoshop and post it here, methinks. But I do have bread to bake. Maybe I'll work on it once my dough gets to rising. If anyone actually knows anything about places that make t-shirts, keychain/bottle openers (I like the foot-shaped ones), stickers, magnets and the like, drop me a comment. I've got ideas, oh yes, but execution is something I'm still working on.
I'm going miss my domesticity! I'm heading to Department Head School in November and back to sea on the USS Halyburton in the May-June timeframe. I'll be Chief Engineer there, so I'm currently investigating horcruxes and memorizing James Doohan quotes.
