i'm reading wideacre at the moment but i haven't made much progress on it. did you get it using the sunday star times free voucher? i like philippa gregory books but when i read the blurb on the back it sounded boring. when i started reading it, it was more interesting than i thought it would be.

what did you think of it seeing as you've finished it? how long did it take you to read it? it's fairly long so i'm impressed that you finished it so soon. i'm going to try reading 50 books this year which means i will have to read at least 4 books per month.

It took me a while to get into it too - Mum got it from Whitcoulls, I think it was from that sunday star times thing, because she's just got the next book in the wideacre series, the favoured child i think it's called, the same way.

I think it's a good book, I probably prefer Phillipa's elizabethan england ones a bit better, but the plot in wideacre is good, lots of twists and turns and the main character Beatrice is pretty well done - it's like she's evil, but you still feel some sympathy for her.

I'm trying to do 50 this year too - I've just finished my third one, so i'm not doing too bad.
