McCain attacks Obama over bailout failure Media Report Pelosi's Pre-Bailout Vote Attack on Bush and GOP Fingers point... and point back. Each side accuses the other of scuttling the bailout plan. But is that really the case when
95 Democrats defected to the GOP side?
No. It wasn't partisanship. It was the constituency telling the Congress a resounding "no". And yet our Senators and Representatives are going at it again. They have no respect for what we want.
Let's look at this another way: they didn't give you credit for saying no. They blamed each other. This means that they have little or no regard for you. What is so hard about standing up and saying "The district I represent says they do not want this. I represent them and so I vote nay."
But they didn't. They took a path that shows that they have so little regard for you, other than doing the minimum it takes to get reelected, that they REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE that they work for YOU. They refuse to acknowledge that you, the voter, have any power over them. What utter hubris. What total arrogance.
Vote "no incumbents" in 2008!!!
The Constitutional definition of Congress means both the Senate and House of Representatives, collectively. Have you noticed that most people tend to use Congress to mean the House of Representatives? I find it interesting that one part of the Legislative branch would work the common lexicon such that they seem to be the holders of all power in that branch.
Dear Incumbent,
You're fired.
Sincerely,
A. Voter
