Body Count

Jan 30, 2007 08:02

I have been avoiding this. I don't really know why. I just always seem to find something better to write about.

The current tally (January 30, 2007, 7:29am) of US and coalition forces dead since the inception of Operation Iraqi Freedom is 3334. We have been at war in Iraq for 1412 days now.

What does this mean?

It means we have a KICK ASS MILITARY! We have been at war for almost four years and we have only lost 3334 of our forces?!! HOLY SHIT! THAT IS JUST FANTASTIC!!!

GO USA!! GO USA!! WOOT!!!

It could also mean that we are just not prosecuting this war as we should. Maybe the death toll is so low since we are not aggressively engaging the enemy.

I mean, we have been at war for four years. Shouldn't that number be higher?

In every case I have seen, there is no body count for the ENEMY. People seem to be so focused on hating Bush and "peace at any cost" that they are missing the larger picture of how tremendously successful we have been over there. But they can't post it because the tally is kept confidential. Thus the Left's morbid fascination with death and its use to denigrate and undermine the USA are the only things we see.

The Washington Post: "U.S. and Iraqi forces had killed or captured 15,000 people last year."

And that is just a partial tally. We have been kicking major booty over there.
