Gregory, I found that halfway cynical and halfway conceited and I know you're going to hate me now for saying that, you hate everyone, but I just had to tell you how I feel. You're probably not going to like it, and start a new journal or something where people can't make comments like that, or something, but Gregory, the world is beautiful and if you open up your eyes, you'll see that there are people in it that make it beautiful. There are more Cooley's, and Lara's and Audrey's than you allow yourself to give credit to. We exist, but you don't want us to.

How is that conceited? People are taking this entry the wrong way and it's not cynical at all. I didn't say that I hate everybody either. I said that in all actuality I will not like most of the people that I meet and they will probably annoy me but the fact that each person has their own story makes me want to leave here and actually experience the world beacause most people have not. I'm not saying that I will hate everybody I meet but most of the ones that I know are closed-minded. This is why I want to meet new people. I'm not saying that I will like them either but it's worth a try and I don't agree with you that this is conceited at all.

Now that I re-read this I don't find it cynical or conceited at all! I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. It's my life and I can do what I want with it and hate who I want.

People are not taking this the wrong way, because first of all, it's only me that said anything about it. And also, if you ever want to be the writer you claim to be, you're going to have to understand that you can't explain every word to them, that they're going to take it how they take it. I bet you like certain writers over others, not because of what they write about necessarily, but also because of how the writing makes you feel and they dynamic the write with. I'm just expressing how that piece of writing made me feel. I knew you would take that comment the right way, but I can't apologize for expressing my opinion. Also, you're right, you can do what you want with your life and you can hate who you want to hate... if you reread my comment, you'll see that I never told you what to do or who to hate. I think it's very beautiful what you want to do with your life, and I congratulate you on that. But you can't get mad at every person that doesn't see your writing the same way you meant them to see it.

I think the part that I found conceited was saying that Mrs. Cooley would read your poem all day and she would cry. And then about how she'd call you once a day. It just seemed like you think Mrs. Cooley only wants to spend her time being proud of you and your accomplishments. She's impacted probably thousands of students, and if each of them wanted her to do the things you wrote in that, then it really wouldn't be as meaninful as that woman really is. She is truly amazing and I just think she needs to live her life, live her retirement, and be free. She doesn't have to be proud of anyone or cry over poetry anymore. I know that's a horrible reason to find that conceited because I know she would be proud and she would cry, but it just feels conceited that you want that for yourself. Let her be free. It's just a feeling I had.
