Family Weekend
Jake came down to visit this weekend and was a *huge* hit with the family. =)
Aunt Gail and Aunt Kathy also came out this weekend. We knew AG was coming, but AK was a total surprise to everyone (except dad, who was picking them up from the airport). I hadn't seen either of them in at least three years, so it was awesome they both came out! Mom and dad had a party with all their friends from Appleton - that was cool. They all approve of Jake, too. =)
Jake and I also went up to Appleton yesterday for the NEW Apple Corps team party and to have dinner with Sean. Due to stupid traffic in Oshkosh/Appleton, we didn't make it in time for the party. Dinner with Sean was awesome, though. It'd been too long since we'd seen each other and had much to catch up on! After dinner, Jake and I went to Fox River Mall to look for jeans for him. Man, it's nearly impossible to find 32x36 jeans that aren't $50-$100 - most places don't even carry that size. At least, being short, I can buy jeans too long and have mom hem them - if you're tall, there's not a whole lot you can do except continue to look.
I go back up to Houghton on Saturday, and will be there until Thanksgiving (scary!). Dad's helping me move the rest of my stuff - I haven't started packing yet, but I hope it won't be more than my VUE can handle.
Oh! I got my cello fixed at WHoM - I don't think the soundpost was sitting right before, because now it sounds much better than ever! The luthier was so sweet - he stayed an extra four hours just to finish my cello. I told him I didn't need it until the 25th, but he was like "well, I'm sure you want it before you go up to school - I'll see if I have some time to finish it tonight." So he glued the cracked seam, put up the soundpost, heat-treated the bridge (it was warping and a little crooked), and set everything back up. AND he didn't charge me for the bridge treatment. All in all, it came to $51.00, and I left him a $10 tip for being awesome. =)
PS: I lost 15 lbs over the summer and am at my lowest weight ever. Yay! =)
