I'm so bad at keeping up with this! Désolée toujours!
- My old laptop finally croaked and every time I use my new one, I'm blown away! It's so quiet, and I can actually have it in my lap without worrying about the battery falling out or my legs getting burnt! It came with Vista though, which really isn't that bad because it just means I'll probably play around with Ubuntu. I'm guilty of being thankful that I could get this computer early in the summer so I have plenty of time to play around with it.. It's like a little pearl with all its shine! I've been babying it so much, ha ha. I use a ridiculously large pillowcase to protect it from my messy bag but really need to just make an adorable little case for it. It's a decent excuse to go to Fancy Tiger for throw-up-cute fabric.
- Knowing that I won't be back on DU's campus for over a year made finals week pretty awesome. It helped that my tests went so well too though, ha ha. I finished my French final in fifteen minutes, and I was nowhere near the first one done!! I heard that Hélène won't be returning next quarter so that explains how relaxed she'd been during the last few weeks of classes. Selfish confession, but that news didn't upset me a whole lot, and not being upset drove in how it feels like I won't ever feel like a DU student again. Whenever I look forward to my last year back on campus, it feels like it'll be more like housekeeping to tie up loose ends rather than another serious year of school.
- I need a summer job so badly. But I also feel like not having a lot of money to blow through in Japan will do me good. My dad said he'd help out with buying a camera as a belated birthday present, which means I could easily get a pretty nice SLR. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to start looking for one? I'm leaning towards a Canon Rebel.. I feel like spending the money on a camera for next year will be worth it, because it would be a pretty good excuse to just explore around the cities and hike everywhere else. Also, I really want an album of all my friends to show off to my host family.
- Thinking about making a laptop sleeve has put me in a crafty mood lately. I also want to make striped socks for my chargers and DS, ha ha. Margot, your neighbor's adorable crocheted cupcake kills me with its cuteness so much that I also want to finally make cute little kittens and bears. Maybe I should actually make my professors belated thank-you gifts. Would that be too strange?
- I should try to organize and write down my thoughts more frequently. I hate when my posts end up long and rambling like this, ugh. I'm jealous of those who can write charming anecdotes about everyday things.
