music is so sexy.
i always have trouble listening to music whenever other people are around. there's this problem i have where i either completely ignore the music, or everything else. i think i feel that the music deserves my utmost attention so i can catch the changing dynamics, the way the instruments interact, the way the composer took care in choosing where sounds appear and how they interact. it's something that just can't be done with half the brain. picking out where different instruments express their individual character, how the tone of the passage could have changed if the sounds had been created by something else. i can almost see it weaving in and out of itself before my eyes. almost.
