So it's been a while, oh journal. How I often don't even remember that I have you. By my count, it's been roughly six months since my last update. And for once, that time has been good. Like, really good. I found an amazing job, that pays well, and lets me create new things every day. But damn, the six months prior to actually getting hired, those were some rough times. I must have applied to close to two hundred different places, only even getting an interview at a handful of them. Though ironically, as soon as I accepted the current job I have now, I got about three more offers within two months. But I know I made the right choice in places to work at. It's a nice small company, by my last count 17 people. So everything is hands on and personal. It also means that I get to learn a little bit of everything. Mostly I'm working on broadcast systems layouts, though this week, I get to work on some waveguide for a linear accelerator. Or I will as soon as the scientists figure out which flanges they have on the outputs of their system, so I know what the hell I'm plugging into. I don't know what to say beyond damn do I love it there. The guy I'm working under is retiring at the end of this year, so I only have roughly another 6 months until I'm in charge of the entire mechanical engineering dept. Which will at that time consist of only me. And possibly Mike, but that's only if his salesmanship doesn't pick up. Though with Frank selling more systems than we can actually manufacture, I'm not sure what'll happen if things do pick up. ah well, I guess I'll just be along for the ride that is life. now to pay off those damn student loans, and I'll be all set.
