(no subject)
Well once again i'm at work and i've been sent off to "twiddle your thumbs" for what's probably going to end up being like two and a half hours. because basically my boss is too lazy to find work for me to do so he wants me just to sit here while he finds some. ah well. boredom is slowly setting in and hey, it's been a few weeks since i've had a real post, so what the hell, right? well anyways, long story short, my life as of late has been consisting of work, parties, talking late into the night with questionable women, seeing random movies with people followed by wonderful dinners at chili's (love it there OMFG), not getting enough sleep, and wondering how the hell i'm going to come up with an extra 1200 to pay for food. and umm... that's about it really, so let's elaborate on each of those, shall we?
work has been pretty spiffy lately. i've got a prototype out with a nonfunctional cable while we wait for the real ones to arrive. and it's nonfunctional because they basically had me take an existing monolead, cut it open, and glue on the parts that were going to go on it. and since glue is mostly nonconductive, the two wires leading to the thermister, and the three to the accelerometer don't really have all that much point to them. ah well lol at least it looks pretty. kinda. i mean the cable has some shrink wrap holding it together, and one of the electrodes has this ugly brown cover when the real one is supposed to be black, but it's close enough for a prototype lol. and while i wait for the real cables to come in, i'm kinda stuck with not too much else to do, as my side project is waiting for the quote to come back from vortex metal. but the guy in charge of that is on vacation this week, so again i have nothing to do. hence the post lol. ah well, let's progress, shall we?
the random parties at kevin's house on saturdays have been pretty darn fun lol. with glowsticks, the new addition of a strobe light, great company, ryan's sexy car playing music louder than it should, mass fustigation, and large amounts of delicious food, nifty times are had by all. pictures are posted on facebook at the following link http://rpi.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2635685867&ref=mf and yeah. weekends are just awesome lately. which reminds me, i need to go out and buy glowsticks for tommorow. someone call me and remind me after i get out of work lol.
talking late into the night with questionable women. well, i guess there's not too much to explain on this one. long story short, i stay up way too late for my own good. especially having to wake up at 6 every morning. yuck. i dunno. it's a bit comforting to know that i'll always be able to find companionship, but it still just feels kinda empty not being in anything commited. i dunno. i guess i'm just a hopeless romantic, but i just want something with long walks on the beach and cuddling by a fire. myeh, i'll find a girl stable enough eventually. but it's really too bad all the ones around here are flakey. can't there be like a repair shop for women, where you can just take them in to be fixed like a car or a computer? cuz all these broken ones that you just can't rely on are really starting to be bothersome lol. ah well. good things take time.
so on random nights of the week, i've taken to seeing random movies with people, followed by a yummy dinner at chili's. cuz i had just been dieing to see some stuff, most notably transformers. which was pretty awesome. but still disappointing that it didn't feature the song "the touch" ah well. can't have everything. it was still a good movie even if it did need more 80's rock. and the food at chili's is always awesome. but also always pretty huge. especially with appetizers before hand. and they're so tasty you can't skip the appetizers lol. mmm... blooming onion... *drools* but anyways lol
not getting enough sleep is pretty self explanitory as well. cuz staying up till 3 or 4 and waking up at 6 is just not pleasant lol. well it kind of is cuz i have fun till that late, yer kinda not cuz now i'm getting sick. not too nifty that. but oh well, i go back to school in 2 weeks, so i can sleep then. not having classes until noon 4 days a week is pretty spiffy. cuz i'm awesome like that lol
and lastly, financial issues. apparently they raised tuition but over $1000 a semester between this year and last, but i didn't notice until after i had applied for my loans. i can cover most of the difference with how much i'm making this summer, but i'm still short about $1200. i dunno, hopefully books will be cheaper or i'll get christmas money or something. and i know i still have a bond or two worth about $500, so i'll be able to scrape by, but financially this year is going to be a bit tough.
and ummm, that's about it really. i've wasted about 45 minutes of twiddling time, so now i have only about oh, and hour or two to go. ah well. at least i'm still getting paid for this
