Japanese christmas is for couples. American christmas is for family.
Japanese new years is for family. American new years is for...um... getting drunk maybe?
So ya for me, on chirstmas eve me and my family go to a special service at church, then we drive around and look at all the christmas lights on the other houses. When we get home, we leave cookies and milk out on the table for santa when he comes. We go to sleep and in the morning, my brothers wake up first and wake up everyone in the house. We see that the cookies and milk were eaten by santa, and that there are lost of presents under our christmas tree and that our stockings are full. First we all have a big breakfast and then we go open up the stockings that have little gifts in them. Then we go to the christmas tree to open presents. My family takes turns opening one gift at a time. When everyones presents are opened, we then go to our grandmas house. We eat a big lunch/dinner and then open our stockings and presents that are from grandma and grandpa.
Just opening more and more presents. its the american way. lol
American new year's is for getting drunk!?!? XD Actually, most Japanese people are drunk on new year's, even some children. They traditionally drink sake at breakfast with osechi, and cops wait outside so that they catch a lot of drunk drivers.
Opening presents is fun! Usually, Japanese children get one present on Christmas...American christmas is much more fun!! D:
