Heh... so... I bet you've been wanting some sketches...

Soooooooooooooo... I'm a slacker. And nothing points more to that truth than my created art with a slacker back story. ^__^

I'm pretty pleased with how this came out. Though there's actually not a ton of different facial expressions, I think the ones I do have came across very well. Let's just hope it's enough to ease the hearts of awesome people that raised me up in prayer and gave generously so that I could take part in spreading the Word of God.

With that in mind, I will be leaving for Jamaica to work in the deaf village next month. I'm starting to get a little excited about the entire trip already. ^__^ My sign language still stinks, but at least I have the alphabet down. That basically means that I'll be needing a dictionary with me since my internal spell check system is extremely faulty.

Now for the bad news. Most people already know this, but it should still be posted. The place I have been employed at for the past 6 and a half years will be closing its doors permanently on July 1st of 2011. Alsons Corporation has been merged into Delta (a fellow Masco Corporation), and they have decided that it would be best to remove the tiny (but efficient) facility in Hillsdale, MI. I have been told that my last day here will be between June 3rd and June 16th.

If you are at all wondering how I'm taking the news (which was given to us in February), I'll sum it up like this. God is good. God has a plan for myself and everyone here at Alsons, and God will see us through. I've been through far worse than the loss of a job. I've been unemployed. I've been hungry. And though I have never been homeless, I know that with the friends and family I have, it is not a reality that will come knocking. I am an exceedingly blessed man. Blessed with family. Blessed with friends. Blessed with a personality that refuses to curl up into a ball and die. Not when I have the most powerful of powerful and righteous of righteous as my Lord. This isn't the end. This is simply another new beginning. A new challenge. A blessing for me to be humbled by. God is good, and I look forward to where He leads me.

Now with that out of the way, let's get to the blessing I've had as of February 24th, 2011. I am the overly proud uncle of a little boy named Seth Donavon Clark. ^__^ He's adorable, and maybe enough of a reason to start looking southbound for future employment. Well... That and the warmer weather... ^__~

But I must be off now. I have to head home and start on other projects I've let fall to the wayside. Tis a good night for catching up. ^__^

Take Care and God Bless,
Chad
