Weeks 41, 42, 43 and 44 of the New Years Goals *__*`

Life. It's kicking my buttocks. Sorry for the lack of updates, and I'm sure that great things happened throughout these past 4 weeks that I'm now totally forgetting about, but such is the life of a crazed artist. So lets see what I can remember...

Halloween was a blast, as Leah and I headed to my old college friend's home for an epic costume party. Kendon Smith and his lovely wife Courtney Clark totally did up everything for the party. Creatively made treats, fog machine, lights leading to a bonfire, and even a room dedicated to taking pictures of everyone's costumes. I took second place in the scariest costume department. Good ol' Invisible man. Simply where a trench coat, wrap your face in medical gauze, slip on some shades, and put on some gloves and a fedora. The perfect procrastinator costume. :) Leah came as a pirate, soooo... we didn't exactly match up all that well... but we did have a good time. AMAZING costumes worn by all, and there were at least 50 people at the party throughout the night.

Last weekend, my old Walmart coworker (and friend of course) had a Rock Band 3 party. At least 10 people showed up for a night of rocking out, and then a 3-4 hour long game of Apples to Apples. It was a pretty great way to end the weekend. The only thing missing was Leah, since she had her swing dancing, exam, and paper to turn in that weekend. I miss my cutie... Good thing I get to see her this weekend. ^__^

A few weeks ago, my good friend and the college and career pastor at my church (Steve Briix), put me in contact with a fraternity at Hillsdale College. "Why?" you ask? This isn't your run of the mill fraternity. They don't have a frat house, and they don't partake in the normal "Animal House" college behavior that's stereotypically found under such a title. These young men are a Christian based fraternity that had approached Steve to see if there was anything they could be doing in the community to assist the people. So Steve put them in contact with me, and God has helped out with the timing of everything else. Tomorrow, I will disperse the small army to two (possibly 3) locations for yard raking, shed repairing, and gutter clearing. Something like 20 to 25 guys that I've been having loads of fun trying to find rakes for. lol. Imagine if you're a widow and suddenly you see 20 guys outside your house that you've never met before in your life that just came to do your yard because they want to reflect God's love for that person. I almost get teared up just thinking about it. Man... I hope I have enough rakes... lol. Prayers for tomorrow would be awesome as it's suppose to rain and that would really put a damper (like that? "Pun Master" at work) on the events. So prayers for safety, smooth working attitudes and no rain until we're finished would be most appreciated. ^__^

And now for the updates on the goals.

1. Paying off College Early = I'm working so much overtime... Things are going so well for the revised goal though. ^__^ Uncle Don's work has steadily increased with the holiday season approaching, so the extra bonus cash has been quite a joy. The savings account grows with much furry! ^__^ One month down and 8 to go before I can crawl out from underneath this my college loan. Happy dance to follow in late June. ^__~

2. Reading the Bible in One Year = Read, Chad... READ LIKE THE WIND!!!! This is going to be a struggle... ok... it IS a struggle... I need to become a better reader...

3. Good Works in God's Name = I have an army at my disposal for multiple good deeds in one day, all in the name of the Lord. I feel like Oprah, but with the proper motivation and no money. And I'm a dude. With no talk show. I have no idea why I feel like Oprah...

4. Achieve 2nd Degree Brown Belt Status in Sanchin-Ryu = Ok... It's a bit overdue and all but... I received my promotion paperwork this past Monday night. In two weeks, I will officially be a 2nd degree Brown Belt in Sanchin Ryu!!!! THE ONLY GOAL THAT IS GETTING MET THIS YEAR!!! LOL!!!

5. Run a Full Marathon = Running in a 5k today. Not even close to a marathon, but it's a step (more puns!) in the right direction.

Side Note = Call of Duty: Black Ops is fun, but somewhat frustrating. I enjoy the new maps and a few of the additions to the weaponry, but game play seems to be a step down from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game is growing on me, and I think it'll last as the one my friends and I shall be playing for a while. Still, it just wasn't the big bang of a game I was hoping for. Oh... and the little remote control car with explosives on it... so annoying...

Now back to work with me! :D

Take Care and God Bless,
Chad
