I'm back from my annual North Carolina golf outing with my buddy (Jeremie). Time flies when you're spending hours looking for your ball in the woods.
It was great to see the McLeod's again. They're always so hospitable to me when I stop in, and the conversations we have are of such a wide range. Yes, some stories I've heard numerous times before, but that's what happens when you have a good story to share. It gets shared a lot. ^__~
Work has been as hectic as ever, and I'm already getting burnt out. I'd rather not say much more than that about anything related with my employment. Sometimes blogs have been used to fire people when they get a bit too disgruntle, and as much as I struggle with some decisions made at work (and who doesn't), it's a good place to be. They take better than average care of me, I'm paid well for this area, and I enjoy my coworkers. Life could be far worse.
I'm currently attempting to purchase a domain name for a more dedicated website than "Live Journal". Sadly, someone has the rights to www.robobug.com, and I'd like to have that domain name for my own private use. Hopefully, GoDaddy will be able to negotiate a reasonable price. If not, I'll be forced to use www.robo-bug.com instead. Both work, but the whole dash mark thing always gets overlooked when someone's typing in an address the first time or two.
That being said, this is my somewhat public announcement that Robo Bug will be attempting to join the ranks of great webcomics like
Ctrl+Alt+Del,
Penny Arcade, and a great little gem of a strip I found called
The Apple Tower. Robo Bug and Chad will be gracing the internet once a week until I can get faster at the whole process, or find more time to draw, ink, and color. I still have a TON of drawings to do for use on the website, AND a website to build. Look for Robo Bug to appear no earlier than this September. Yeah... That sounds like a safe month... lol.
By the way, I strongly suggest
The Apple Tower. Brian Barnett has created some great characters, timeless artwork, and is very child friendly webcomic. Definitely worth a visit, and it's only a few months old, so you can get caught up on everything pretty quickly. Brian also has this insane idea of producing comics in the traditional form. ^__~ So you'll be seeing a basic black and white, Monday through Friday comic with a colored one for the weekends. It's AWESOME!!! ^__^
And now the updates.
1. Paying off College = With the $1,000 gone from my emergency fund in order to pay for the first installment towards my El Salvador missions trip, I possibly will not be paying extra towards my college loan this month. This all depends on the amount of overtime I'm willing to work, so I may find myself behind my desk on a Saturday here and there. Everything rides on budgeting and the additional expenses that are soon to come when the Mustang comes out of storage on April 1st. Oh... How I hope the weather is spectacular for that week... ^__~
2. Bible Reading = Well... I actually caught up a lot over the plane rides this past week. But improvement is still needed in order to get me back on track fully.
3. Good Works in God's Name = The next time you see a solider, do something nice for them. These people have put their life on the line for others. Regardless if they've seen action or not, they've made themselves available for deployment into situations many of us would hesitate to jump into. So thank them, salute them, buy them lunch, but above all make sure that they know that they're appreciated.
On a sad note, I will not be donating bone marrow next week. Unfortunately, the man I was to donate to took a turn for the worse and has now been placed into hospice. Prayers for him, his family, and friends would be appreciated.
4. Achieve 2nd Degree Brown Belt Status in Sanchin-Ryu = Eagerly awaiting the promotion still, but understanding that I really need to keep working hard. A belt is only valuable when there is knowledge and hard work behind it, and more ahead of it.
5. Run a Full Marathon = I've been doing more weight lifting than running still. The weather has turned out to be quite nice this week, so I'll be out and about soon. I'll start with a few 3 mile runs this week, and maybe a 5 mile run on the weekend. Then gradually build up to a half marathon by the time the Solider Field 10 Mile Race is ready to go on May 29th. I figure that if I'm ready for a half marathon by then, I'll be able to run the 10 mile very easily. Plus, it'll put me on pace for a late summer/early fall marathon. ^__^
The goals list will be increasing soon, as Robo Bug will need to be scheduled in more and more. Expect to see some sneak peaks over the course of the next few months. I'll make sure to keep you all posted. ^__~
Take Care and God Bless,
Chad
