OK, here's some thoughts on what's going on lately:
It's my fourth anniversary of being with Simon and he's still really lovely. I took him back for one night and he's ended up staying for 1,461 so far. We've had a few rough patches, but I count myself very lucky that they've rarely lasted longer than a day. I couldn't list all the things I love about Simon, but one thing that has really made me happy is his social chameleon skills. He has fitted in perfectly with my friends from University and my family as well, so much so that he even came to the Polish Christmas meal last year, which I never thought would be allowed to happen! It's not like he puts on a different face when he's with my friends or family, he just fits in perfectly as he is. Which is just wonderful. Long may it continue.
I have recently finished V for Vendetta as well as Brave New World. I was almost all dystopiaerd out, but I think there's some merit in comparing the two stories. There'll be a long Blog on that before too long.
Supreme Commander is likely to arrive tomorrow. w00t. It may cost me £1,000 of PC upgrades, but I like that kind of stuff.
Work is really busy at the moment. What's with that? This is possibly the first time ever that I've had a really good workload and not had to scratch around. There's even slightly too much. I'm almost feeling under pressure. I'm actually feeling useful at work. That was never going to happen at MP or that big London Government transport company!
Farscape is absolutely superb. Best sci-fi show ever. We've just started season 4 and I'm having as much fun watching the show as enjoying Simon's reactions at the twists and turns that I know are coming up! I'm really looking forward to John Quixote, the cliffhanger at the end of Unrealized Realities and La Bomba, which were my favourite bits of this year, aside from Scorpius's return in Promises, which we just watched.
This weekend we're recording the second block of The Soap of Fatal Death at our house. It's gonna be AWESOME.
Tomorrow we go to see Hot Fuzz, a film that somewhat has slipped under my excitement radar, but should still be jolly funny. I want Simon Pegg to have a back catalogue of about 50 funny films to watch already!
I've abandoned my plan to read the final Torchwood book, Border Princes after finishing John Sladek's The Reproductive System today. I think I might go straight to Philip K Dick's Ubik without passing Jack.
The Klaxons. The Good, The Bad & The Queen. Gruff Rhys. At least 3 bands have released fantastic albums this year. Album of 2007 is going to be a tough one. Not like last year where it was er... er.. either The Flaming Lips, Scissor Sisters, Lorraine Bowen, The Killers, The Zutons, The Bluetones........ The Beatles?!?!
