Roadtrip

Cam and I set off for a trip north along the californian coast. First stop was santa barbra, a charming town, with great midafternoon bartenders. Downtown reminded us both of a coastal Pasadena. Our travels then took us up the PCH a very boring route this far south. We got lost several times and traveled through some of the most unremarkable towns this state has to offer. We found sleep at a cheap motel and woke up delightfully near several charming beaches. We explored the rocky ocean stepping mere feet from baby seals and their concerned mothers. A half hour later we came across the Hearst mansion, otherwise known as Xanadu. This mansion is one of the biggest on the west coast and inspired such movies as Citizen Cain. The interior was a mini europe rolled up into a single castle. Afterwards we stopped again several times to see the hundreds of elephant seals molting for the spring months. Through the big sure we traveled along vistas I have never before witnessed. Cliffs hundreds of feet high plunging strait down into the violent sea. As we traveled inland the redwoods began to sprout. After a wonderful seafood dinner 100 miles south of San Fran we ventured home via the 101.
