I don't know yet. I'll find out between 10am and noon tomorrow.
My THREE DAY INTERVIEW (for teaching English in Japan, in case you haven't been following the saga) was nothing less than exhausting.
I did get to go to the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition where I had too much dipped soft serve ice cream.
Right now I'm too distracted by all the cool business cards I collected [and making a collage of them] to write any more about it. But I did write an email to my folks on the first day.
well i made it to phase 2! we had to take a general knowledge test which i didn't do too well on [which i'm retaking tomorrow]. there was a grammar part, then Qs about like which war was in what decade, who painted The Scream, name the planets in order [got that!], who's the prime minister of japan [Koizumi!], etc.
we did a quick 1 on 1 which was fine, then little impromptu group presentations where we answered our own questions in the form of a game or lesson. it was pretty fun.
we talked about [oops I forgot to put what we talked about]
there were 3 other girls and 5 guys, ages 22-27. i know one of the girls didn't make it [i think because she's Asian--they want people who LOOK foreign, i know it's not fair]. she was pretty knowledgeable too. anyway, could you please pass this info on to Renie?
assuming i make it to phase 3, i'll find out on TUESDAY if i get in. then i have a week to decide and sign the contract. they'll send the 1st part of the correspondence course [about grammar & japan] 2 weeks after that. it'll take 1-2 weeks to finish, then i'll get the 2nd package which is more about teaching and that'll take 3-5 wks. i'll find out where im stationed/when im going w/in 2 weeks of confirming. after the corres. course, i have to either come back here or go to vancouver [which is on the way to japan] for a 4 day training session, then i'd fly out the next day to japan [probably a friday], get there saturday and start work on monday or tues. they continue training while i'm working there.
btw i'm at an internet centre [$3 ph]. toronto is awesome! much better than NYC. the buildings are either old and different looking or modern [and a bit different looking].
i have to be back at GEOS at 8:25am tomorrow. back to studying!
love you all!
