I can't beleive it's March already. Time is flying past as I stand still, like a tree surrounded by a hurricane........
Today, at work, we had a meeting concerning my project. God. What a mess. I'm glad in a way that Person#A is retiring at the end of the month. What he said in 40 minutes could have been summarised in 5. *thud, thud, thud*.
Still, I managed to convince the rest of the team (with Person#2's help) that we were right to follow MY project plan/path in (what I deam) to be the correct choice of project partner. I hope it pays off, as this project had me on a long, long lead. More than enough to strangle myself on, and to fuck up the rest of my career at this place.
Had lunch with the guy who first interviewed me at the company 3 years ago. Great guy, who I'd very much like to go and work with when my big-scary-boss retires in <2 years time. VERY compitent. Very 'nice' and not one of those management bullshitters. A good chap.
More progress on in the lab this afternoon. Crappy results on my oscilloscope though, my alumina cup is too thick. :( I scadged it off someone who has a stockpile (they cost $2000 each), so I'm gonna have to make a special order. (Or get a better oscilloscope). I really fancy a colour one, so I shall ask my big-scary-boss..........
Had the gas man come round tonight to look at my boiler; he's the boyfriend of one of our lovely canteen staff and didn't even charge me! He'll be back in summer 'after the boilers done the winter work' to give it a good clean and service. Nice chap.
