Today I had an appointment for a consultation with a doctor about my swallowing problem. I planned to deposit some money Beverly gave me after, so I took my checkbook (this will be relevant later).
I seem to have a problem with an eccentricity with my esophagus (don't snicker, that's what the doctor called it. It appears to be do to a
Schatzki Ring. That's a ring of muscle that sometimes constricts food movement. No one knows how they are formed.
The other possibility is that the constriction is caused by inflammation from acid reflux, but this is unlikely. So I have an appointment for them to stick something down my throat and stretch this ring out. They will also check for any acid reflux inflammation while they are in there to see if I need any further treatment. It should be a two hour procedure (some time in August--I don't have the paperwork with me.)
When I got back to my car and got ready to go to the bank, I couldn't find my checkbook (not the joint account). Okay. There was a small chance that I left it at home since I was running around before I left the house. Or that I left it in the car and it was stolen.
I went to the bank, and then to Safeway to get food for the next two days. I planned on ordering for the rest of the pay period when the money from the stock Corey sold comes in. Victoria requested something by Sprite called "Gamer Fuel". I couldn't find it. I asked an employee to help me. It was crowded today, and a lady behind me laughed when I started off with "A teenager asked me to get something called..." Neither of us could find it. I got her a Red Bull instead.
I stopped off at the library and picked up a couple of books on hold and then went home. I couldn't find the checkbook. CHord gave me the money he pays each month for rent, so I got ready to go to the bank. Amanda asked if she could go with me. I said no. She asked, "Why not?" I couldn't come up with a good reason, so I told her to get her shoes. We deposited the money and came home.
I called the bank, and the man there canceled that book of checks, and ordered a new box for me (a small one since I don't use them often--for the deposit slips, mostly). I got on line since I now had enough money in my account to shop online at Safeway.
I got a called from Bank of America a while later. The lady said that she was at the branch at the QFC near College St. I'm not sure where that is, but she said a lady had come in with my checkbook and said that she found it at the Memorial Medical Center (where I had been earlier in the day). I explained that the checks had just been canceled, so she offered to shred them for me.
There are some really good, helpful people out there.
