Dad told me that after her surgery, Mom was in Post Op for over an hour. Once they got her into her room, the nurse came with the morphine right away. Maybe they couldn't give her pain meds in post op because it would mess with the anesthesia. The limited experience I have with spinal surgeries suggests that they use a different kind of anesthesia.
Mom is home now. I spoke with her on the phone, and she seemed very cheerful. She also admitted that she is on some pretty powerful pain medication. She says thanks for all the good wishes. Recovery time is expected to be eight weeks.
Amanda and I did a bunch of gardening yesterday. We got so caught up in it, that I totally forgot about her Thursday Speech class. Whoops. It was the last one of the year, but they will have an end of the year picnic next week, so we can say good bye to everyone then.
