Amanda and Alexander had their dental appointments today for cleaning and check up. No cavities for either of them! Hooray!
Amanda didn't cry or throw a tantrum, but she didn't let anyone into her mouth either. They decided to just check her teeth. Dr. Kapust tried different methods of getting her to open her mouth, but she wasn't having any of it. So Dr. Kapust and I sat in chairs facing each other. Amanda sat on my lap facing me,which made her happy, and then we pushed her back so that her head was in Dr. Kapust's lap and he could look at her teeth. She wasn't really happy with this, but she didn't fuss. And she got to choose a toy (a squeaky alligator).
Alex will need braces (we knew that), but he is too young. His bottom teeth are doing something weird, so they will monitor it at his next appointment. Dr. Kapust said that Alexander may need to go into braces a little early.
After I left some post-dated checks to pay for our part of the visit, I took Alexander to his school. I asked the lady there, and she said that he had not missed lunch (he had no idea when his lunch was.) Amanda then asked my where her alligator was. I thought maybe I had put it in my purse along with Alex's prize (a card game), so I knelt on the floor and emptied my purse. Nope. Then I couldn't find my keys, which was frustrating because I distinctly remembered driving to the school. The office lady saw them by my knees, but didn't see any alligator.
Since the dentist was nearby, we drove back and found the alligator on the floor in the play area. Amanda was pleased.
Then we went to the eye doctor and I picked up my new glasses. They have magnetic tinted lenses that attach to the frames and I was glad, because it was very bright and sunny out. I missed that with my old glasses (the pair I had before that had the same option--it's great!)
A quick drive thru visit at what must be the world's quickest McDonalds and we were on our way home.
CHord and I plan to watch some "Night Stalker" this afternoon. As soon as "Blue's Clues" is over. Amanda is watching it and doing a little dance.
