Oh, dear GOD.

Also, your commentary is made of win.

Google is your friend. That's not to say "WIN" doesn't stand for something to someone out there; who knows? But in this case, a cigar is just a (non-grammatical) cigar.

Wow, so you liked my comment? thank you. I still don't grasp win that much, but it appears to be a compliment.

I'm so used to people incessantly flamming each other on other internet sites (that will go unmentioned) that I have been conditioned to react to any use of any internet abbreviation as an insult or flamming. It may take me some time to unlearn that conditioning.

Well...

I was actually referring to robinskij's commentary, from the transcript in her original post, because it made me laugh. Sorry!!

However, I am not one to flame in any event.

yes, Robin's original post is the one that deserves the cudos.

She nailed it.

"Charlie,... "

Don't you hate it when someone keeps using your name when you ask them a question, but while they remember your name, they can't seem to remember to answer your question?

None of my f'listers are prone to flaming from what I can tell or they wouldn't be invited. I'm very picky about who is on my f'list...venting and cussing is allowed, and civil disagreements, but as my journal is friends locked, people who are generally disagreeable (as opposed to an occasional disagreement) aren't allowed.

So kick off your shoes; other than the occasional keyboard replacement I think you are pretty safe here. :-)

I notice a lot of high pressure sales type people use that name technique.

As Sarah Palin is clearly trying to sell us all a load of horseshit, I guess that's appropriate. Lame, and fail, but appropriate.

Win is just win, as in opposite of lose, and I guess it's being gerunded. Or something. My old English teacher is churning in her grave, I imagine.

Sort of like fail, only different. ;-)

This "win" thing is nice. Why is it that I had becomed conditioned to expecting any internet jargon to be an insult or a snipe? Tells you something about the state of many internet social networks and blogs. LJ has been a welcomed change, blissfully absent of gratitious flamming.

And yes, your English teacher is turning in her grave. Everything she ever worked and stood for has been lost, utterly destroyed, by the informality of the internet. All is lost!

There are probably some less pleasant lj's out there but this one here is my own little world and I get to say who is in it...also no drahmah is allowed, unless it's dicussions of actual stage drama which is always good.
