So, I've been doing an animal unit with my preschoolers the past couple of weeks, since they don't know the signs for any animals. One of the stories we started on Tuesday had a lot of odd animals, like an anteater and armadillo and flamingo, so I've been showing them youtube videos of these animals in the wild while I tell the the stories, and they have really been enjoying it. So today, I decided to show them a video of a crocodile and I found one right away with the words "crocodile" and "gazelle" in the title, and I was like, BONUS, two of our animals! I watched the beginning of the video, saw the little crocodiles swimming around, and was satisfied.
This is what I showed them:

Things I have learned:
A. Always watch the entire video before showing them to 3 year olds.
B. Always read the entire title of the video.
C. Always stop video when there is any sign of animal massacre.
D. Don't continue to watch said video, even if you are incredulous as to why the idiotic gazelles keep jumping into the water.
E. Whatever you do, don't look at your aide and start laughing. It doesn't help.
In other preschool news, a joke told to me by one of the mainstream kids today:
E: Ms. Robin, wanna hear a joke?
Me: Absolutely I do.
E: What has 4 wheels and flies?
Me: Oh, I don't know. Tell me.
E: It's a bird!
[LATER]
E: Ms. Robin! I have another joke.
Me: Ok, let's hear it.
E: What has 4 wheels and walks on the ground?
Me: I don't know.
E: It's a bird!
