Messages back and forth today with the sr. editor of Luna regarding the cover copy of Guardian of Honor, out February of '05. We finally settled on the following:
With their magic boundaries falling and terrible monsters invading, the Marshalls of Lladrana must follow ancient tradition and Summon a savior from the Exotique land....
For Alexa Fitzwalter, the Marshall's call pulled the savvy lawyer into a realm where she barely understood the language, let alone the intricacies of politics and power. Armed only with her wits, a mystical companion and the help of the chevalier, Bastien, Alexa must use her very human mind and skills to fight the encroaching evil-and resist manipulation by the Marshalls to force her to stay in Lladrana.
Now torn between her affinity for this realm and Earth, if given the chance to return home will she? Or dare she risk everything for a land not her own?
They are going to use the Library Journal review quote for Heart Thief on the back cover:
As have others before her (e.g., Anne McCaffrey, Marion Zimmer Bradley), Owens has penned a stunning futuristic tale that reads like fantasy and is sure to have crossover appeal to both sf and fantasy fans. Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc.
Romance Writers of America is starting a committee on Literary Agents and I have been accepted for the subcommittee of Complaints. My first RWA volunteer work and I am a bit wary.
Meanwhile, my agent (also copied all the cover quotes and various versions of the book cover copy today) told me she got a HUGE deal for another client...makes me sigh with envy and work harder all at once.
Writing has been good, 1200+ words last night, 1300+ tonight, after a 10.25 hour day at day job.
I sort of like this live journal thing, especially since no one has found me yet....Scorpio speaking I guess.
Love,
Robin
