A bird just flew into my window. Supposedly that's a bad omen. Yeah, I'm a supersitious person, don't laugh. It's really my mom's fault. She's really superstitious and she passed it onto me. And sometimes I think she might be right.

Example: Last month we were driving down a road, only a block from our house.  It was almost dark and suddenly a black cat darted across the road. I shrieked and my mother managed to slow down just enough to let the cat pass uninjured (which is good, because i'd feel bad if we had hit the kitty). However my mother was more concerned that she'd already let the cat cross our path. She'd actually had a black cat cross her path before and instead of going on she had actually turned around and gone down a different street.

And of course me, being the idiot I am, tempted fate by laughing and saying "I can't believe your superstitious." (Despite the fact that I was already a bit superstitious myself.)

Well that same night, while we were in the middle of a movie our TV went out. Just like that. It'd been working perfectly, there was no power failure or anything. It just died. And it refused to turn back on. We had to buy a whole new one. Now I don't know about you, but that's a bit too close of a coincidence for me just to ignore....so I'm more careful when it comes to superstition and omens. I'm also nervous about that damn bird....

life, omens, superstition
