Mexico

Whew. Were home.

We left last Sunday, parked at the port and got on board the Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas ship.

We sailed that afternoon. At sea the first day. Didn't do a whole lot. Went to a wine tasting that was fun, I won a bottle of my favorite Riesling wine. Yum...

We had gorgeous meals and really cool people at our table. Normally you share a table with another family, which can be scary since you don't know them from Adam and they can be really weird or whatever. They were nice anyway and so dinners all week were really enjoyable, 5 course meals all excellent. Food everywhere.

First stop was Cabo San Lucas. Eh. If you like to get drunk at cheesy bars, this is your place. Not me however. I was PMS to the MAX and was miserable and nauseated the whole day. Did a little shopping and went back to the ship as soon as I could.

Next day was Mazatlan. We took a little boat out to Deer Island where we kayaked around the island and then hung out on the beach. Eh, was ok. I think I've been spoiled by the beautiful Caribbean beaches and now no other beach is at all as nice. It was fun despite being the 1st day of my period with not alot of bathrooms around. Max and I went out on the kayak together; Tom went with Jessica (Melissa stayed on the ship with the kids club activities). Max and I kicked butt. We were almost back when we looked over and saw Tom and Jessica being towed back by the guide! Too hard for Jessica and Tom so they got a lift back. Lazy punks! Had the nerve to point at us and laugh as they sped by. Max and I didn't let them live that one down very easily.

Next day was Puerto Vallarta. This was my favorite. Jess, Tom and Melissa went to swim with dolphins and had a great time, got some really good pictures. Had a BLAST!! Max and I went horseback riding in a Mexican "rainforest" which hardly qualifies to be called such, more like a nature park or something. That was really cool. We rode for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours with a stop at a beautiful waterfall where we cooled off with a swim halfway. When we came back, we were served a wonderful homemade Mexican meal with homemade tortillas and tequila and stuff. It was so good. I fell in love with horseback riding and want to get a horse now. Might just have to make Tom buy me one eventually!! Can't afford it now though, but our area has stables and trails, so it could be done. Got my wheels spinning.

Next two days at sea were relaxing. I got to sit and read for a long time, made some progress in my book "Knight Errant" about "Robyn" and her medieval adventures. I love to imagine being her; neat escape.

I didn't see much of the kids the whole time, due to them finding some great friends and running around the ship with them to all hours. I am glad they had fun. Both of the older one's found little hotties to hook up with. **was jealous!!**

The last day at sea was ROUGH so Melissa and Tom slept in the cabin all day, fighting the queasies. Jessie even felt a little bad, but managed to be out and having fun anyway. I was fine. I have strong sea legs. :-)

The night activites were great too. Excellent shows of variety style and comedians etc. My favorite was the "Karaoke Idol" competition. You know I was there, and made it to the finals as well, to my surprise! Last night we had the final 11 of us sing one more time and the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers were the judges. They then told us we all unanimously tied for 1st place and gave us all medals and certificates. Woo hoo. I was hoping for a bottle of wine or something. Oh well, It was a hoot and I guess technically I won! Our table partners and our kids and their friends all came to support me. Sooo much fun. I sang "What a Feeling" from Flashdance the first night, then "Miss Independent" by Kelly Clarkson the second night, then "Any Man of Mine" by Shania Twain. I guess I did ok, people the whole trip came up to me and told me how great I did, etc. It was SOOOO much fun. People loved me and I loved all the attention I got, the little attention whore that I am!! HEE!!!

Then it all came to a sad end today when we came home. Got to watch American Idol from last week (WAAAAHH!! bye bye, Nikko!) and get some laundry done. Sorry no pictures, maybe I'll figure out how to put them up again and add them to the post.

So that was my week. We all had a great vacation and I probably drank WAY too much alcohol, but it was really a good get away. Sorry to be back. School and work and all tomorrow. Way too lazy right now. You mean I have to clean and make my own bed again? Argh. **is sad**
