It's the hokiest thing in the world. Ethel Merman sings "There's No Business Like Show Business" on stage, and just before the last note, she turns and spots her long lost son stage left, goes "Ah!" in shock, but true to the title of the song (and the movie), she turns back to the audience, belts out the last note and finishes it before she rushes out into the wings and into his arms. It's the hokiest thing in the world, and yet there's this damn lump in my throat...
