I had a terrific weekend celebrating a friend's birthday at the Ritz-Carlton. His boyfriend had planned an elaborate surprise party for him, complete with vintage champagne, cake, card, gifts and best of all, good friends all around him. His card had the most beautiful message that really moved me. I won't quote it but it made me realise something
