Reg and I had the movie Before Sunrise on our "One Week List"1 for about three years now. I finally saw it this week and figured it would make good livejournal prompt fodder. With the same prompt, but no idea what the other person is going to say, will we at last find out if we are..... THE SAME PERSON?!Before you read any of this, I want to issue ( Read more... )

I like that you found collectivism from this movie and Regina found individualism. Interesting.

We aren't the same after all!

But, I think (and you've already agreed - I'm just putting this on the official public record) that we should start a series of Mitch and Rod Think and Write Stuff about Movies They've Seen posts.

Maybe with a better title?

Anyway, I really liked doing this and reading what you wrote. Talking about souls always reminds me of our soul death conversations way back when.

When you say "my band" is this Pre-Snot or a side-project? It is hard to keep straight. You are both talented and prolific in the imaginary band world.

If we write about The Iron Giant, I will be focusing on soul death.

And I was thinking of Pre-Snot, but I guess "Island off the Coast of Maine" is our sophomore effort? So, "Soul Division" can be the second album of the fake band I made up in 1995, when Before Sunrise came out: Snowy Enclosed.

I just thought I'd let you know that I love this movie. I don't own many DVDs at all, but the set of Before Sunrise/Before Sunset was one that I was totally willing to splurge on. I have so many thoughts on this movie that I don't know if I have time to map them out on LJ.

See the sequel. It's not awful at all.

I have seen the sequel and I love it so, so much. The last scene is my second-favorite last scene ever, after The Third Man.

Correction: THIRD FAVORITE! I can't believe I forgot Casablanca. I'm so embarrassed for myself
