I need this weekend like crazy. There was the nuttiness that was the work week, punctuated by the Super Ex (when did it become 'Super', I ask), and a run on movie-watching. Considering it's the summer, I seem to be ingesting both big screen and small screen offerings with abandon.
I'm departing for our Faux Cottage in a couple of hours, bound for Lac des Loups and motoroaf country -- guys with beer bellies, thinking that tying your boats to the other in the middle of the lake and blasting some sort of questionable music (though most involves Burton Cummings) for hours on end is a great way to get melanoma.
The illustrations are almost done, just a few more to do, some editing, and then it's all over to Sistah Kim for lay out. Suze is marketing like crazy, getting lots of readings for us around Halloween. It's encouraging. We might even see our money back.
I can listen to the radio and draw at the same time, so that's how I've been experiencing the Olympics, which is kinda interesting. Show jumping (one of those sports that Canada seems to be good at, in addition to women's wrestling and trampoline...sports that China and the U.S. have not discovered yet) isn't quite the same when you're just listening to it. Although Usain Bolt's 100 win looked EXACTLY as I imagined it.
Off, off, off to the heat and the bugs and Burton. Last of the illustrations, whining kids, too hot to sleep.
All okay.
