Barely Breathing

My ode to my fantastic evening. I went and saw "Spring Awakening" at the Orpheum, and I felt the need to write this. It was a little tricky at first, but I think I got it all out now. The show was absolutely amazing, and afterwards I went around to the stage door and got the entire cast to sign my Playbill. Shorty made sure we got pictures with the leads as well, so that was cool too. G'night all!

I can hear my beating heart
its pounding along
to the rhythms in the songs
and my head is bobbing hard
I lip-synch every little word
blasting off that stage
and the rage all around me
as I start to sing along

makes me feel like I'm the guilty one
but that's just the bitch of living
and I won't do sadness
I'm flying higher than a cloud
I believe they're all whispering
"he's totally fucked in the head!"
but that just ain't the case
see all that's known is that I'm a little crazy
but see the word of my body is screaming
saying "mama who bore me! touch me!
send me through the mirror-blue night!
On a blue wind, with my junk by my side,
into the dark I know well!"
and it gets me through the freezing hell
and to all those left behind,
just sing a song of purple summer

it'll get you through this winter
just remember one thing
those you've known
and those you're gonna know
they'll get you through the bad
and the ugly days, and erase
them one by one til you say
and then there were none

And then you'll have your spring awakening.
