Abandoned Idea Clearinghouse: Blood Revolution
Today on Abandoned Idea Clearinghouse, an item from my file of plot ideas:watching a film being test-projected. “Hey, this isn’t the film we thought it was. (A documentary on a filmmaker.) Hey, this must be Blood Revolution, his ultra-rare 1973 horror film, which no one has seen and is believed lost.” And then a death squad bursts in to kill everyone and take the film back.
Usually I release clearinghouse items into the wild for anyone to take. This one I'm abandoning because someone beat me to it, years after I jotted it down. It's pretty much the premise of “Cigarette Burns
”, one of the John Carpenter-directed Masters Of Horror episodes.
