Dungeon Master's Guide 2

Until recently, if you went to Amazon, searched by my name, and sorted the results into their relative bestseller status, one book always came out on top: the 3rd edition Dungeon Master’s Guide II.

Well, its hegemony is now at an end, because the fourth edition Dungeon Master’s Guide 2 dropped while I was off doing the film festival. I was delighted to be asked to contribute to this book, especially since James Wyatt asked me to write a chapter inspired in part by entries here on this blog. These core books are very much team efforts, starting with the contributions of freelancers like yours truly and incorporating a veritable swarm of in-house writers, developers and editors. As a result, you can’t really separate out contributions of particular authors, the way you can identify, say, the Robin parts and the Ken parts of Shadows Over Filmland. That said, it doesn’t take a detective to see my handiwork in the first chunk of the Group Storytelling chapter. Other pieces are sprinkled through the work.

The reviews so far have been extremely gratifying. Congratulations to James, Bill Slavicsek, Mike Mearls and the rest of the team for putting together a great final product.
