I've always been fond of the mix of "grimdark silliness" and the pastiche of late medieval and Reformation Europe that makes the Warhammer world. Without trying to fall prey to the aforementioned trauma, coupled with the column on their web-page, the hints we saw in the display case were maddening ... or at least fanned the flames of my curiousity, which is probably the point.

chilledchimp's entry is 'that one's going to stay on the idea farm' in the same way that a tired old dog might go to stay on a farm and not return.

It was good to catch up for a bit and I hope we get the chance to talk more about fiction and other topics later on.

Glad to hear the show went well for you.

So I wasn't actually at Gencon but I paid virtual homage to the industry buzzword by remarking on Ryan Macklin's facebook page that "Consensus is just a poor harvest from the idea farm" in response to some comment he made about Batman. Facebook is the home of tenuous connections.

Had I been at Gencon, I would have milked the metaphor no end (as one would, if the cows in question were also on the idea farm).

Was good to meet you at the con. And the seminar you ran with John Wick was great. If I had remembered I would have put out an idea farm question.
