I am so pleased to see that Mouseguard is up for this award, Robin, you have no idea! Thanks for passing this along. I really would like to see it win this award. Think it's got a shot?
Hey there! What do you think of the new World of Darkness? Or, do you have a post in which you discuss it...? Seeing D&D 4E in that list made me think of the WoD and how it compares.
I haven't gotten around to Mage, though I hear nice things about the spells and mechanics, if not the backstory. I think Requiem is far more mature than Masquerade.
But the thing that really got me pumped was Hunter: the Vigil. So great! Very engaging.
Jeepform and Sweet Agatha are making me think that maybe some really interesting stuff has been happening while I stepped away from roleplaying for a decade.
I know you're not here to gloss these games, but is there any easy way to explain how Jeepform is different from improv?
Jeepform often uses more structure and has longer stories. Improv theatre, most often, is oriented toward quick scenes and going completely off the cuff. Jeepform is more similar to playing out an improvised play, though you can have scenes replayed, commentary given by directors or audience to spice things up and so on. And, each has a unique structure. What any one jeepform game will be is going to be very different from the others.
It's thrilling to see jeep acknowledged this way! And amongst such august company.
