final post of the summer. not that it is really summer after labor day (at least i'm not wearing white whilst typing...i'm not a heathen, you know).
on the last day of the vacation, we hit the zoo. i figure you've seen one sleeping lemur, you've seen 'em all, right? Oh, but to watch the polar bears swim. They are just HUGE, and elegant, and amazing. That was probably my favorite thing. The boys? Oh, the boys were all about the bird enclosure.
then home. exhausted, but renewed. just in time for school.
we sucked up every last minute of summer. well, until the last pool closed. the pools were the pivot around which our summer spun. neither could swim when we started out. now we have a high diver, and the little guy can just about swim across. it has been an absolute joy to see them both do the jump they invented, the super-twister, in absolute synchronization off the low diving boards...and then swim to the side.
do i regret quitting my job to stay home with them? was it too difficult to juggle the two, and my coffeeshop job, and the husband? was it worth it? Let me sum it up this way...
they can send him back to school, but they can't make me like it.
