(Aw man -- I am not sure how that sounded, I'm just using "outdone yourself" as an idiom, not as a commentary on any other books! I'm going to quit trying to be poetic and just say I'm quite impressed!)

No, actually easier. As I write more and more Cal books, I need little 'tricks' to keep my brain alert and interested. Otherwise you start spitting out the same old thing over and over.
