(no subject)
Wow it's been awhile. I am so lazy...well lazy when it comes to LiveJournal. I think about updating it all the time...im just a slack ass and never get around to it. Well, by the grace of the good lord its one slow ass day at work. I am actually going to cut out an hour early to go to the gym before I pick David up from daycare. So whats been going on? Well, I finished my first book illustration gig a few weeks ago. I painted the front cover and back cover as well as about 20 black and white illustrations for the inside. It's called "The Village of Illusions". I didnt write it, its a novel written by this new author. She is selfpublishing it and it should be out early next year. Was cool working on it. I will see about getting a pic of it up here soon. It was a learning experience, she was kind of a pain, had pretty much what she wanted everything to look like in her head and didnt give me a lot of room to add imput, but in the end I think it turned out ok.
Work has been interesting, the company I work for spli into two and they had a bidding war over me. I choose the side I did and in two weeks I was offered another job with a company in Boca. So I took it! I am going to be starting that gig in a week. Its for an advertising agency in Boca. SWEEET place, pay is great and I get full medical paid for by them. Also get a lot of paid time off for Holidays. The set up is sweet, all new G5's with dual monitors. One for workspace and the other for tools. I even have to wear a tie to work now. I am still going to do magazine work on the side for my old company. I could sue the money for bills and christmas coming up.
Halloween was ok, Michelle had to work which sucked, but I got to take David trick or treating. He wanted to be Superman which kicked ass. He was so cute.
Michelle is busting her hump at work. She is actually working at two different hospitals so she can pay off loans sooner. We spend as much time as possible together, usually she comes home, we have dinner and watch a movie. I just installed risk on the computer so I think she is going to be addicted to that for awhile. I am not one to talk, I play the new Grand Theft Auto game at least an hour a day. Its so good mira. Next week Michelle, David, and I are going to see the Incredibles. The movie looks like the JAM but I promised her we would all see it together so I cant see it opening night, oh well, I look forward to seeing it with them.
I am also working on a bunch of freelance shit now, the big one is a huge poster for Rick's comic store. I am doing it for free, mostly because I havent done anything for myself in awhile but also for more exposure into comics. I am not really gung ho about getting into comics anymore, but its still a fun medium to work in.
Well I think thats it. yeah it is. PEACE! Oh wait, Joey sent me a huge pack of Ben Folds Five CD's. I love that kid. he sent me every single cd of his. He is the man.
