Mungyo Gallery Artists Soft Pastels on Rob's Art Supply Reviews at Blogspot.
I'm starting to catch up again after the long wretched cold/flu bug that I was dealing with. Still have a touch of a cough but I'm working on my four Cat Commissions, today I sketched the fourth cat: Cuddly Oliver. He's snuggled in his mommy Lisa's lap in the photo and was purring when she snapped the photo with her other hand. He's a plump medium long hair gray tabby with very big eyes and a sweet lap-and-treats addict personality. Not an Oliver Twist waif, more like he'd be mewing Food Glorious Food and appreciating it hand-given with snuggles.
I'm having a good time with these cats. She has videos of all of them, so my photo references are not only great but enhanced with some idea of each cat's habits and personality. They're all healthy, happy cats and very individual.
At last it's spring. At last I can move again, breathe again, have something resembling body energy. I'll be trying to do as much as I can until the heat of summer sets in. Next up, a benefit painting of Skip the Bobcat to raffle to the Skipaholics on Facebook, the final wombat for Lauren and her long-delayed parcel (which has expanded, considerably, should be an interesting box to pack and I'm sure I'll squeeze in at least one more butterfly when the wombat's done just because she deserves it for her long wait), and finishing up the Johannes Vloothuis "Create Stunning Landscapes from Photos" classes. Two more weekends. Tomorrow/Sunday, and then the next weekend... and then it's over.
I feel like I've been in grad school for art since the original free classes in December but it's been so worth it. I can see a difference in my paintings, even in the cat commissions. Wombat will be far better than if I'd done it before.
