Both sketches are from life. The first one I used the 12 color set from my review, the second one I did tonight using more precisely chosen colors from the full range. I love the way these pencils handle. I also figured out the best way to get him in odd poses is to use an HB pencil for a fast gesture in under a minute, then detail and shade him after I know where his proportions are. I did the penwork after the colored pencils and wash both times, and that worked out well.
