Theme Week today: Reflections!

Apr 01, 2008 12:53

ACEO TW Reflections Great Blue Heron had its title truncated on eBay to get in "oil painting" in the title. It is the first oil painting I've listed on eBay and a super bargain at $4.99 starting bid, since that's a requirement of the Theme Week contest on the eBay Group ACEO Art Cards Editions & Originals.

Theme Week always inspires me, you've seen this every month on the start of the month. I was going to just do one piece, the oil painting, and let that stand -- but I could not resist doing another. This theme is just too good!

ACEO TW Reflections Ripples is in Design Spectracolor colored pencils over a white value drawing I did with a Derwent Drawing Pencil on black Rising Stonehenge paper. I might do some more entries today, since this theme strikes something I love fooling around with in art constantly.

And the Griffin Alkyds are a complete success. I did my Great Blue Heron yesterday morning and it was dry by midnight, totally blew me away with that. I will varnish it before I ship it, with the Da Vinci Retouch Varnish to give it a good glossy look -- it wouldn't show in the scan, but I think it needs that.
