Stress and Art Block

ACEO Reflections Trees, in progress.

I haven't posted new art for a week. This is a shock to me. I noticed it when I clicked on my journal just to see my last entries grouped... and saw no art posted since the 10th when I posted an old artwork I decided to sell. It's because of the stress of the eBay strike.

I've had a massive amount of email generated by the creation of Art and Craft Auctions dot com, which I'm on the Yahoo group advising the developers. Soon it will come online for a soft opening, and I hope to have something gorgeous to post as my first auction there -- this landscape is a good candidate if I can get down to finishing it in time. I have gotten out my Artist's Photo Reference: Water and Skies which is where I've got the primary references I'm using for this one.

Oh, here's something new I can post. Blue Rural Scene is an original bookmark, drawn with fountain pen on acid-free cardstock. I was fooling around trying to get the pen to work and started sketching, it turned into a fun little pen sketch. Some lucky ACEO buyer will get this one tucked into the mailer with their purchase. I always do little bookmark drawings in various mediums, usually penwork or scratchboard or silver scratchboard, then put my business card information on the back like the moo cards. It's a small thank-you to my buyers. I happened to have one done without having sent it out yet, very often I don't even scan these but just do them when something sells and tuck them into the package and send them off. Sometimes I theme them after the ACEO they bought and do a variation on the same subject.

And I may have forgotten to post this reef ACEO when I did it, which was around the 9th or 10th, can't remember. It's colored pencil on black Stonehenge paper, and I will be listing it once ArtACA goes live:

ACEO Reef Lionfish is one of my better reef scenes. I did it from a reference on DeviantART from an underwater pack in Unrestricted-Stock. If you are an artist, check out Unrestricted-Stock for wonderful stock photography free to use on a wide variety of subjects. There are also models in mermaid costumes or swanky black dresses, a Stonehenge pack, all sorts of cool stuff, and zoo animals like the cheetahs pack that I'll be using for my cheetahs commission.

Sorry you haven't had cool pictures to look at for a while! I'll try to get back into my habit of daily drawing now and hope my health looks up!

Meanwhile I'll post the rest of Reflections of Trees when it's done.
