ACEO Rosebud Valentine is painted on Yupo, the synthetic art substrate that is not paper. It's actually a thin sturdy sheet of polypropylene, with a smooth finish that does have enough tooth to hold a pencil mark. I may try it for some colored pencils stuff too. I got challenged to use it by a friend on eBay after I mentioned I'd bought some, so now this is the result.
I started just by doing the rose to fool around, prepared to wipe it off if it didn't turn out cool. But it did, jumping out bright from the white surface. So I kept going with leaves and buds and hearts and that butterfly in the middle, thinking of Pennsylvania Dutch hexes and other designs with bold colors on a strong white ground. I think it came out neat. I'll be listing it on eBay on Monday.
